Oral Cancer Detection

Oral pre cancer and cancer detection centre was inaugurated by IDA president in MGM Medical college hospital on 1st of May 2011(No Tobacco Day). It was one of the feathers in the crown of MGM Dental College and Hospital which is known to work for the humanity. The purpose of the pre cancer and cancer detection centre is to detect any pre cancerous lesion in tobacco users who were aware or absolutely not aware of the lesion so as to treat them early before the lesion converts in to cancer. Examination of the patient is done, with detail case history then followed by cytological examination of the lesion to observed changes in the individual cells. Then if necessary it is conformed with biopsy. The response to the center is excellent, total 600 patients have taken advantage of the center in the first few months and they were very happy with the results.
